Bueng Kan is the northernmost province of the northeast and its sights are far apart: the town and Mekong promenade, Pak Khat along the river, and Bueng Khong Long with the Naga shrine and caves. This page sorts the hotels we could verify into those three areas so you can sleep near the part of the province you came for.

Use the quick answer above, then the area table. We show no hotel prices because rates change with date and room type, and the booking buttons open a search for your own dates. We have not stayed at any of these hotels. Every card shows facts taken from the hotel's own website and checked on 19 October 2026 after a separate verification pass, with the source linked. Only 3 hotels are listed because most small resorts here have only a Facebook page or a booking-site listing, and we list a hotel only when its own website can be read and checked. That means there is no verified hotel here for the Wat Phu Tok and Si Wilai side or the Phu Wua side (see the FAQ).

How to choose

  1. Decide which part of the province is your main plan. For the town, the Mekong bank and the Thai-Lao market, stay at B2 in Bueng Kan town: it says the river is a 10-minute walk away. For the quieter river stretch at Pak Khat, choose Kongkhamkoon. For the Naga shrine and caves, choose Anant Pura Resort in Bueng Khong Long, which lists the shrine at 6 minutes and Naka Cave at 18 minutes.
  2. Read the distances as the hotels' own claims. Anant Pura lists Phu Thok temple at 30 minutes (31 km) and the Three Whale Rocks at 1 hour (58 km) from its gate, but the sights are spread over a large province, so one base cannot cover everything. Open the map pin before you book.
  3. All three suit people with a car or a hired driver. Bueng Kan has no airport or railway, and Wikivoyage lists the nearest airports as Sakon Nakhon and Udon Thani, so plan the last leg by road and confirm the final rate with tax, parking and cancellation terms.

Drive or bus; the chain's post says the hotel is on Chayangkul Road in the heart of the city

One hotel on this list is in the town. B2 Bueng Kan says it is on Chayangkul Road in the heart of the city, lists 72 rooms in four types, free Wi-Fi and a lobby bar with 24-hour food and drink, and gives a 10-minute walk to the Mekong bank, 5 minutes to the Thai-Lao market and about 15 minutes to Kaeng A Hong. The detailed page is a news post from August 2024.

Choose it if: You want a central, budget base from which the river bank is a walk away.

Skip it if: You want a pool, a garden or a quiet river setting.

Mistake to avoid: Do not treat the 2024 post as a current rate or room list; confirm with the hotel.

Choose it if: You want a plain riverside room with a pool and are happy to drive or ride a bike.

Skip it if: You want detailed room lists, published rates or a central town base.

  • Kongkhamkoon's site is generic in wording and shows no prices, so ask about the room type, the pool and the breakfast before you pay.

FAQ

Where should first-time visitors stay in Bueng Kan?

Stay near the part of the province you came for. For the town, the Mekong bank and the market choose B2 Bueng Kan, for the quieter river at Pak Khat choose Kongkhamkoon Hotel, and for the Naga shrine and caves choose Anant Pura Resort in Bueng Khong Long. The cards show what each hotel says on its own site.

Is there a hotel near Wat Phu Tok?

We found no hotel in Si Wilai with its own readable website, so none is listed for that side. Anant Pura Resort lists Phu Thok temple at 30 minutes (31 km) from its gate, which is the closest verified option on this page. Wikivoyage describes Phu Thok as a 359 m sandstone hill with a wooden walkway.

Is there a hotel near Phu Wua?

Not one we could verify. Wikipedia says the Phu Wua Wildlife Sanctuary is in the districts of Seka and Bung Khla, and we found no hotel there with its own readable website. Treat Phu Wua as a long day trip from your base and ask your hotel about transport.

Why does this page list only three hotels?

Most small resorts in Bueng Kan have only a Facebook page or a booking-site listing. We list a hotel only when its own website answers a plain request and the wording we quote can be found on it. The One Hotel's site is a booking-engine page with no hotel text, and several other domains did not load, so this is a checked list, not a complete one.

How do I get to Bueng Kan from Bangkok?

Mostly by bus or car. Wikivoyage lists the nearest airports as Sakon Nakhon and Udon Thani and the province has no railway. When our team opened the 12Go Bangkok to Bueng Kan page on 16 October 2026 for 18 October and two travellers, it showed 19 trips: 7 buses from THB 834 and 12 taxis from THB 1,725. That is one day's snapshot, not a guarantee.

Do these hotels list prices?

We show no prices. B2's chain page shows a changing starting rate, Kongkhamkoon's site shows none and Anant Pura's site shows none. Use the booking buttons for your own dates or contact the hotel directly.

Do I need a car in Bueng Kan?

Almost certainly. The sights are spread over a large province and the hotels' own distance lists are given in driving minutes. B2 is the only listed hotel that says the river bank is a walk away, at 10 minutes.
