Quick answer: where to stay in Chachoengsao?

Choose an area first, then check the live rate for your dates.

Disclosure: we are an affiliate partner of travel booking sites, but these links currently open the providers' own sites and earn us nothing yet.

Chachoengsao (Paet Riu) is a river province east of Bangkok, and most visitors treat it as a day trip. If you want to stay, the choice is mostly about which bank of the Bang Pakong river you want to wake up beside. This page compares four areas: the city and Wat Sothon, the mangroves of Bang Pakong, Bang Khla upriver, and a golf estate in Bang Nam Priao, plus one hotel whose pages do not name its location.

Use the quick answer above, then the area table. We show no prices because rates change with the date and room type, and the booking buttons open a search for your own dates. We have not stayed at any of these hotels. Every card shows facts taken from the hotel's own website and checked on 16 October 2026 in a separate verification pass, with the source linked. Many small guesthouses here have only a Facebook page, so this is a checked list and not a complete one.

How to choose

  1. Decide whether you need the city. The city side has Wat Sothon, the railway station and the Baan Mai riverside market. Two hotels on this page say they sit 1.4 km from Wat Sothon, and BaanBow says it is near Big C and Robinson Lifestyle.
  2. Pick the river for scenery. Rimbay Mangrove Resort describes itself as set in the mangroves along the Bang Pakong river, and Tala Bangkla and Casa Bangkhla are by the river at Bang Khla. These are quieter than the city but need a car or a pre-arranged transfer.
  3. Check how you will get around. The city has a station on the SRT Eastern Line, but we found no rail stop for the river areas, so confirm the road distance from the station before you book.

Four hotels on this page are on the city side. BB House and BB Glass House say they are 1.4 km from Wat Luang Pho Sothon, on the Chachoengsao-Bang Pakong road. BaanBow lists houses near Big C and Robinson Lifestyle and says it takes check-ins 24 hours a day. Suan Rim Nam is on the river at Bang Kaeo and offers river boat trips and a karaoke room.

Choose it if: You are here for the temples, the Baan Mai market or an early train.

Skip it if: You want a quiet river or mangrove setting.

Mistake to avoid: Do not assume everything is walkable; the main road is busy and some hotels are a short ride from the market.

It is the only mangrove-side hotel on this list. TAT also describes a temple in the Bang Pakong mangroves, Wat Hong Thong, with walkways out to the sea.

Choose it if: You want mangroves and a slow river stay and have a car.

Skip it if: You rely on trains or want late dining.

Day trips and planning in Chachoengsao

We have no registered tour listing for Chachoengsao yet, so we show no tour prices. The button opens Klook's own search, which currently earns us nothing, and results may be limited. The Bang Khla floating market and the temples can be done without a tour, and TAT lists a boat trip from the Bang Khla market, so ask there.

Disclosure: we are an affiliate partner of travel booking sites, but these links currently open the providers' own sites and earn us nothing yet.

Getting to Chachoengsao

Chachoengsao is about 70 km from Bangkok on the SRT Eastern Line. The button opens the 12Go Bangkok to Chachoengsao page. When we opened it in a browser on 16 October 2026 it listed 8 trips, all taxis or private transfers, and no train or bus, so check the train with SRT directly. Our Chachoengsao guide covers the temples, the markets and the route options.

Affiliate disclosure: these links may earn us a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you. It does not change what we write.

Before you book

  • Open the map link for the area and then check the hotel's exact pin. A neighbourhood name can cover a wide area.
  • Check the final rate with tax, payment timing, cancellation terms and what the room includes.
  • If arriving late, confirm the check-in method and the last transport that actually runs.
  • Wat Sothon opening hours on the TAT page are 7:00 to 16:15 on weekdays and 7:00 to 17:00 on weekends. Check before you go, because they may change.
  • The Bang Khla floating market is open only on Saturday and Sunday, according to TAT, so plan a weekend if you want it.
  • Several smaller places on this page take bookings only by phone, Facebook or LINE. Confirm the rate, deposit and check-in time in writing before you travel.

FAQ

Where should I stay in Chachoengsao for the temples?

Stay in the city area. BB House and BB Glass House both say they are 1.4 km from Wat Luang Pho Sothon, and BaanBow says it is near Wat Sothon, Big C and Robinson Lifestyle. The railway station and the Baan Mai riverside market are also on the city side of the river.

Is there a quiet riverside stay near Bangkok?

Yes. Rimbay Mangrove Resort in Bang Pakong says it sits in the mangrove forests along the Bang Pakong river, and Tala Bangkla and Casa Bangkhla are on the river at Bang Khla. All three are away from the city centre, so plan the road trip.

Can I rent a whole house with a pool?

Casa Bangkhla lists a pool villa with 3 bedrooms and 10 beds that sleeps 10, and a smaller riverside villa. It takes reservations through LINE, so message them with your dates.

Is there a hotel with a golf course?

Grand Sappaya Hotel says it is inside the 1,300-rai Lotus Valley Golf Course and that all 79 rooms look over the fairways. It also lists a Japanese onsen and an outdoor pool.

Do any of these hotels take pets?

BaanBow's About page describes the houses as quiet and pet friendly. We found no pet policy on the other pages we read, so ask each hotel before you book.

Why are there so few hotels on this page?

We only list places whose own website we could open and read. Many small hotels in Chachoengsao have only a Facebook page, a booking-site listing or a site that blocks plain page requests, and we dropped one site that carried unrelated gambling text. This is a checked list, not the full market.

How do I get to Chachoengsao from Bangkok?

The city is about 70 km from Bangkok on the SRT Eastern Line, according to Wikipedia. When we opened the 12Go Bangkok to Chachoengsao page in a browser on 16 October 2026, it showed taxi and private transfer trips only. See the Chachoengsao travel guide for the route options and check the train timetable with SRT.
