Where to Stay in Uthai Thani: Town, River, Hup Pa Tat

Uthai Thani is a quiet province about 200 km from Bangkok, according to Wikipedia, and somewhat off the usual Bangkok to Chiang Mai route. People stay over for the Sakae Krang river and its raft houses, Wat Tha Sung and the Hup Pa Tat valley. This page sorts the hotels we could check into three areas: the town, the riverside near Wat Tha Sung and the Nong Chang side near Hup Pa Tat.

This is a short list on purpose. We looked for hotels with their own working website, and most Uthai Thani lodgings only have a Facebook page, an Airbnb listing or an OTA page. Several websites named on travel listings no longer load, and a few others are empty placeholders. Only 4 hotels passed: every fact on the cards comes from the hotel's own site, checked on 17 October 2026 and then re-checked in a separate pass, with the source linked. We have not stayed at any of them. We show no hotel prices because rates change with date and room type, and the booking buttons open a search for your own dates. This is a checked list, not a complete one (see the FAQ).

How to choose

1. Decide what you want to be near. Uthai Heritage is in the town, in the Uthai Mai subdistrict, which is the base for the Sakae Krang river and the town's cafes. River Marina Resort gives a Tha Sung address and a ferry route from the front of Wat Tha Sung. 101 Space Station is in Nong Chang district and says Hup Pa Tad is 5 km from the resort.
2. Check the details that the sites leave open. Aunya Villa's only official page is a booking engine with no address, so ask the hotel where it is. River Marina's site is dated, with a 2017 discount on its home page and many typos, so phone before you count on it. Uthai Heritage asks you to call for reservations.
3. A car helps. The sites do not describe public transport to any of these hotels, apart from River Marina's directions, which are old. Confirm the final rate with tax, parking and cancellation terms before you book.

Two hotels on this list are placed in the town. Uthai Heritage gives an address on Si Uthai Road in the Uthai Mai subdistrict, lists 17 rooms in 8 types and a 15 m by 4 m pool, and opened in a former private school building in 2022 by its own account. Aunya Villa Resort has an official booking page that lists 6 villas, 7 Garden Double rooms, 2 Garden Twin rooms and 1 Garden Family room, but the page shows no address, so we cannot say where in the province it is. Ask before you book.

Choose it if: You want the river, the cafes and a design-led base in town.

Skip it if: You want to be at Hup Pa Tat or beside Wat Tha Sung.

Mistake to avoid: Do not assume Aunya Villa is in the town centre; its booking page gives no address.

River Marina Resort is the one hotel here. Its site says it was established in 2004, gives a Tha Sung address, and describes lodges on the water, including the Marina Deluxe as a Thai-style lodge and 2 Marina Suites that are private bungalows. It says to take the ferry in front of Wat Tha Sung and turn left about 500 m. The site is dated, with a 2017 discount on its home page and many typos, so phone to confirm it is taking bookings.

Choose it if: You want a simple lodge by the river and Wat Tha Sung nearby.

Skip it if: You want a modern hotel with a recent website.

Mistake to avoid: Do not rely on the old directions; confirm the ferry and the road with the resort.

It calls itself a glamping lifestyle resort, gives an address in Khao Bang Kraek subdistrict, Nong Chang district, and describes a private home with a king bed and an outdoor hot tub Jacuzzi. Its Spaceship Concept page describes individual private platforms and Thai food room service. Its Activities page puts Hup Pa Tad 5 km away, which we did not check on the road. The site only describes one private-home type.

Choose it if: You want a glamping-style room near Hup Pa Tat and a car.

Skip it if: You rely on public transport or want the town's cafes on foot.

Mistake to avoid: Do not use the site's Hup Pa Tad opening hours; check the official park information.
