Suphan Buri is a province north-west of Bangkok, about 107 km by the shortest road route according to Wikivoyage, with a provincial town of temples and a tower, an ancient-city district at U Thong, a lake district around Bueng Chawak in the north and hills around Dan Chang in the west. Where you sleep sets your next morning: a town hotel puts you near Wat Pa Lelai and Banharn-Jamsai Tower, while the other areas have one hotel each that we could verify. This page compares five areas and 11 hotels.

Use the quick answer above, then the area table. We show no hotel prices because rates change with dates and room type, and the booking buttons open a search for your own dates. We have not stayed at any of these hotels. Every card shows facts taken from the hotel's own website and checked on 16 October 2026 after a separate verification pass, with the source linked. Many Suphan Buri places have only a Facebook page, so this is a checked list, not a complete one.

How to choose

  1. Start with the plan. For temples, the tower and market food, sleep in Suphan Buri town: Songphanburi Hotel says it is 2 km from Banharn-Jamsai Tower and 4 km from Wat Pa Lelai, and B2 says the tower is 1.0 km away. For the ancient city, Tolopoti says it is central in U Thong. For the lake, Krittanai Plus gives an address in Hua Khao subdistrict, which Wikipedia lists around Bueng Chawak.
  2. Check the hotel's own page for the room you want. Zeen Sky lists a private pool only on its Type L card, K2Green says to book through Facebook, Agoda, Booking.com or phone, Vasidtee's page is dated 2019, and Sasi Resort lists check-in only until 22:00 and no pets.
  3. Ask about events. Lertthani says its convention hall holds up to 1,200 people, Sri U-Thong Grand lists three event venues, and Tolopoti's night-market zone has live music according to its page. If you want a quiet stay, ask whether a large event is on your dates.

Songphanburi Hotel says it has more than 200 rooms and an outdoor pool and is 2 km from Banharn-Jamsai Tower and 4 km from Wat Pa Lelai Worawihan. Choose it if: You want temples, the tower and the market food within a short drive, or you arrive by bus and want shops and restaurants close.

Skip it if: You want a lake, hills or the ancient city outside your window.

Mistake to avoid: Do not assume every town hotel is walking distance from Wat Pa Lelai; Songphanburi says 4 km, so check the hotel's own map pin.

Wikipedia says the ancient city of U Thong lies in this district, about 30 km from the town of Suphan Buri.

Choose it if: You want to see the ancient city and the U Thong museum, and sleep in the district town.

Skip it if: You want to be near Banharn-Jamsai Tower or the city temples; that is 30 km east.

Mistake to avoid: Do not treat U Thong as a town suburb; Wikipedia puts the ancient city about 30 km from Suphan Buri town.

Its home page lists an infinity pool with rice-field and mountain views, a Deluxe Villa with a king-size bed and private balcony, a riverside restaurant and meeting and banquet space. The page is short and gives no room counts.

Choose it if: You want a villa with a pool and the lake and aquarium the next day.

Wikivoyage places the Krasiao Dam and Phu Toei National Park in Dan Chang district, but the hotel does not say how far it is from them.

Choose it if: You are heading to the dam or the national park and want a plain hotel in town the night before.

Skip it if: You want a lake or hill view from the room; the hotel's page describes a town base.

Day trips and planning in Suphan Buri

We have no registered tour listing for Suphan Buri yet, so we show no tour prices. The button opens Klook's own search for Suphan Buri, which currently earns us nothing, and results may be limited. Ask your hotel about local guides and boat trips first.

Getting to Suphan Buri

Suphan Buri is reached from Bangkok by bus, taxi or the Suphan Buri rail branch. On 16 October 2026 the 12Go page for an 18 October search listed 15 trips for 2 travellers, with buses (3 listed) and taxis (12 listed); these figures are what the page showed that day, not a promise. Check the arrival point, the operator and the last departure before you book. Our Suphan Buri guide covers Don Chedi, Sam Chuk and Bueng Chawak.

Affiliate disclosure: these links may earn us a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you. It does not change what we write.

Before you book

  • Open the map link for the area and then check the hotel's exact pin. A neighbourhood name can cover a wide area.
  • Check the final rate with tax, payment timing, cancellation terms and what the room includes.
  • If arriving late, confirm the check-in method and the last transport that actually runs.
  • Distances inside the province are long. Wikipedia puts Bueng Chawak about 64 km north of Suphan Buri city and the ancient city of U Thong about 30 km from the town, so a town hotel is a base for the town only.
  • Wikipedia says the Don Chedi Monument site has been disputed, with a rival claim in Kanchanaburi province, so read the sign and the history rather than relying on one source.

FAQ

Where should first-time visitors stay in Suphan Buri?

In Suphan Buri town. Songphanburi Hotel says it is 2 km from Banharn-Jamsai Tower and 4 km from Wat Pa Lelai Worawihan, and B2 Suphan Buri Premier says the tower is 1.0 km away. Seven of the eleven hotels here are in or beside the town.

Is there a hotel in U Thong near the ancient city?

Tolopoti Hotel and Resort says it is in the centre of U Thong district. Wikipedia says the ancient city lies in that district, about 30 km from Suphan Buri town. The hotel does not give a distance to the ancient city, so check its map pin.

Which hotels have a swimming pool?

Songphanburi Hotel lists an outdoor pool open 07:00 to 19:00, Sasi Resort lists a swimming pool, Krittanai Plus lists an infinity pool, and Zeen Sky Resort lists a private pool on its Type L card. Check the page for the room you want.

Can I stay near Bueng Chawak lake?

Krittanai Plus gives an address in Hua Khao subdistrict of Doem Bang Nang Buat, and Wikipedia lists Hua Khao among the subdistricts around the lake. We found no other hotel with a readable official site on that side, so this list is not complete.

Is there a hotel for the Krasiao Dam or Phu Toei National Park?

We found no hotel with a readable official site at the dam or inside the park. Chatkaew Hotel is in Dan Chang town, the same district as the dam and park according to Wikivoyage, but it does not give a distance to them.

Do these hotels show prices here?

No. We show no prices because rates change with dates and room type. Several official pages show starting rates, but we did not copy them. The booking buttons open a search for your own dates.

Which hotels take events or weddings?

Sri U-Thong Grand lists three event venues, Songphanburi lists 9 meeting room types, Lertthani says its convention hall holds up to 1,200 people and Tolopoti says its meeting room holds 80 to 100. If you want a quiet stay, ask whether a large event is on your dates.

How do I get to Suphan Buri from Bangkok?

On 16 October 2026 the 12Go route page for an 18 October search listed 15 trips for 2 travellers, with buses and taxis. Wikipedia says the Suphan Buri railway line is a branch of the Southern Line from Nong Pladuk Junction. Check times with the operator before you travel.
