Lopburi is a historic city that Wikivoyage puts at less than 3 hours (about 180 km) from Bangkok, so many visitors come for the day. Staying over helps if you want the Khmer-era temples and King Narai's Palace early, before the day-trip crowd. Wikivoyage says the city has two central areas, the Old Town and the New Town. Most of the important sites and the train station are in the Old Town, and buses arrive and depart from the New Town.
This page lists only two hotels, and we want to be clear about why. We looked for Lopburi hotels with their own readable website and found two: HOP INN Lopburi and YSW Hotel Lopburi. Their facts were taken from those sites and re-checked on 17 October 2026 in a separate pass. Most other Lopburi hotels we tried, including Lopburi Inn Resort, Benjatara Boutique Place and O2 Hotel, show only booking-site or Facebook listings, or a domain that no longer exists, so we did not list them. We show no prices because rates change with date and room type, and we have not stayed at either hotel. This is a short checked list, not a full one.
How to choose
- Decide whether you want to walk to the sights. The Old Town holds Phra Prang Sam Yot, San Phra Kan and King Narai's Palace, and the train station, per Wikivoyage. We could not verify any Old Town hotel through its own website, so if you want to sleep inside the old town, search a booking site for the map pin and check it against our Lopburi guide.
- If you have a car or a taxi, the two hotels here are outside the old town core. HOP INN Lopburi says it is in Mueang Lopburi District near Big C Lopburi and near Phra Prang Sam Yot, Sub Lek Reservoir and Khao Chin Lae Sunflower Field, with no distances given. YSW Hotel gives a Khao Phra Ngam subdistrict address and says it is only 10 minutes from downtown Lopburi.
- Check how you arrive. Wikivoyage says the old Lopburi railway station now has only local and commuter services and that the main station is Lopburi 2 (Tha Wung), so ask your hotel how far it is from the station you will use. Confirm the final rate with tax, parking and cancellation terms before you pay.

- Wikivoyage says the old Lopburi station now has only local and commuter trains; the main station is Lopburi 2 (Tha Wung)
This is where the sights are. Wikivoyage lists Phra Prang Sam Yot, San Phra Kan, Wat Phra Sri Rattanamahathat and King Narai's Palace here and lists guesthouses and hotels in the Old Town too. None of those we tried had a website we could open and quote, so this page has no hotel card for the area. The photo shows Phra Narai Ratchaniwet from Commons.
Choose it if: You want to walk to the temples and the palace and do not mind choosing a hotel from a booking-site map.
Skip it if: You need a hotel we have checked against its own website.
Mistake to avoid: Do not read the lack of a card as a warning against the area; it only means we could not check an Old Town hotel.

- Drive or taxi; the site gives no transport guide or distance to a station
YSW Hotel Lopburi is the one hotel here. Its address is in Khao Phra Ngam Subdistrict, Mueang Lopburi District, and it says it is 10 minutes from downtown. It describes green fields, mountains and the northern railway line, a Superior room with soundproof glass, a 70 sq.m. suite with a separate living area, and meeting and banquet spaces, the largest 500 sq.m. The photo shows Lopburi Railway Station from Commons, not the hotel or its area.
Choose it if: You have a car or taxi, want a quiet newer-style room, or need event space.
Skip it if: You want to walk to the old town sights.
Mistake to avoid: Do not assume it is close to the old town; the site only says 10 minutes from downtown and gives no distance.

The page gives check-in from 14:00 and check-out until 12:00 as chain wording. The photo shows Phra Prang Sam Yot, which the hotel names as nearby, and not the hotel or its street.
Choose it if: You want a budget chain hotel and will drive or take a taxi to the sights.
Skip it if: You want to walk to the old town or need a restaurant on site.
Mistake to avoid: Do not treat near as walking distance; the page gives no distances.

Before you book
- Open the map link for the area and then check the hotel's exact pin. A neighbourhood name can cover a wide area.
- Check the final rate with tax, payment timing, cancellation terms and what the room includes.
- If arriving late, confirm the check-in method and the last transport that actually runs.
- Neither hotel gives a distance to the old town sights. HOP INN names nearby places without distances and YSW gives only 10 minutes to downtown, so open the map pin and measure the route yourself.
- YSW Hotel's home page gives the Deluxe room as 40 sq.m. while its Deluxe room page says 20 sq.m., and the hotel calls itself a 5-star luxury hotel in its own words. Ask for the room size and what is included.
- The check-in times on HOP INN's page are chain-wide wording, so confirm with the hotel if you arrive late.
FAQ
Where should first-time visitors stay in Lopburi?
Most important sites, including Phra Prang Sam Yot and King Narai's Palace, are in the Old Town according to Wikivoyage. We could not verify a hotel there through its own website, so we cannot name one. HOP INN Lopburi and YSW Hotel are the two hotels we could check, and both are best reached by car or taxi.
Is Lopburi a day trip or an overnight stop?
Wikivoyage describes Lopburi as less than 3 hours (about 180 km) from Bangkok, and HOP INN's page gives about 2 hours 30 minutes by road. Many people go for the day. Staying over helps if you want to see the old town in the morning or visit a sunflower field.
How far are the hotels from Phra Prang Sam Yot?
Neither hotel gives a distance. HOP INN Lopburi says it is near Phra Prang Sam Yot, Sub Lek Reservoir and Khao Chin Lae Sunflower Field, and YSW Hotel says it is 10 minutes from downtown Lopburi. Check the map pin for the real route.
Which hotel is better for a family or group event?
YSW Hotel's site lists a large meeting room for 50 to 500 people, a small meeting room for 5 to 30 people and a rooftop, with the largest space at 500 sq.m. Contact the hotel for what is included, since we show no prices.
Does YSW Hotel really block train noise?
Its Superior room page says a special type of soundproof glass lets you see trains pass without noise in the room. That is the hotel's own claim and we have not stayed there, so ask about the room facing the line if noise matters to you.
Which railway station do I use for Lopburi?
Wikivoyage says the Lopburi railway station now has only local and commuter services and that the main station is Lopburi 2 (Tha Wung). Check the current timetable and ask your hotel how to reach it from the station you arrive at.
Can I book HOP INN Lopburi directly?
HOP INN's page says you can book through its website's booking menu, its LINE Official Account (@hopinnhotel) or Facebook Messenger. The buttons on this page open a search for your own dates and we show no prices.
Why are Lopburi Inn Resort, Benjatara and O2 Hotel not listed?
We only list hotels whose own website we could open and quote. For the others we found only booking-site listings or Facebook pages, and the domains we tried for Lopburi Inn Resort, Lopburi Inn Hotel and Noom Guesthouse do not exist. That does not mean those hotels are bad or closed, only that we could not check them. This is a checked list, not a full one.
