Quick answer: where to stay in Ratchaburi?

Choose an area first, then check the live rate for your dates.

Disclosure: we are an affiliate partner of travel booking sites, but these links currently open the providers' own sites and earn us nothing yet.

Ratchaburi is a province about 80 km west of Bangkok that mixes a river-plain town, the Damnoen Saduak floating market canals and a hilly west along the Myanmar border around Suan Phueng. Where you sleep decides what you do next morning: a town hotel suits a stop on the way south, a canal-side resort puts you near the floating market, and a Suan Phueng resort puts you in the hills near the Boeklueng hot spring. This page compares four areas and 10 hotels.

Use the quick answer above, then the area table. We show no hotel prices because rates change with dates and room type, and the booking buttons open a search for your own dates. We have not stayed at any of these hotels. Every card shows facts taken from the hotel's own website and checked on 16 October 2026 after a separate verification pass, with the source linked. Several Ratchaburi places have no website we could read, so this is a checked list, not a complete one.

How to choose

  1. Start with the plan, not the room. For the Damnoen Saduak floating market, sleep in Damnoen Saduak: Maikaew Damnoen Resort says it is 300 metres from the market and runs its own boat there. For caves, the river and the town, stay in Mueang Ratchaburi. For hot springs and hills, stay in Suan Phueng, which is far from the town and needs a car or a transfer.
  2. Check the hotel's own page for the room type you want. Rachabhura Hotel says the pool at its villas is shared with the other villas in that zone, Inlaya says its RV rooms have no water heater or television, and the JW Flower Garden room list shows one-bedroom rooms for two guests, so a family of four needs the villa.
  3. Ask about events. Navela Hotel says its banquet hall holds up to 1,200 people, the Centara hotel page leads with corporate events and weddings, and Phuphaphung Resort sells seminar and party packages. If you want a quiet stay, ask whether a big event is booked on your dates.

Two hotels here. Sans Hotel Ratchaburi calls itself a new modern-style hotel in the centre and says it is 50 metres from Robinson Ratchaburi; its home page lists free Wi-Fi, breakfast and a fitness room. Centara Life Wisma Hotel Ratchaburi calls itself a 5-star hotel with an address on Sri Suriyawong Road, lists room sizes from 24 square metres and a Terra restaurant, and leads its page with corporate events and weddings.

Choose it if: You want a town-centre base for a night, for work or on the way south.

Skip it if: You want canals, rice fields or hills outside your window.

Mistake to avoid: Do not assume the floating market is near; Damnoen Saduak is a separate district, so ask the hotel for the drive time.

Three hotels in Mueang Ratchaburi district. Rachabhura Hotel describes accommodation, seminars and a restaurant by the Mae Klong River, with 6 room types and a villa zone of 8 rooms whose pool is shared with the other villas. Navela Hotel says it looks over rice fields and mountain lines, has 46 rooms and over 500 car spaces, and also has a banquet hall for up to 1,200 people. Inlaya says its small hotel has 25 rooms with lake or forest views on more than 100 rai.

Choose it if: You are driving and want a pool, a river or lake view and more space than a town room.

Skip it if: You want to walk to shops and restaurants.

Mistake to avoid: Do not book the cheapest-looking room type without reading it: the Villa Pool Access pool is shared, and Inlaya's RV rooms have no water heater or TV.

One hotel here. Maikaew Damnoen Resort says it is 300 metres from Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and only 2 hours' drive from Bangkok, and its Boat Trip page says it runs a boat from the resort pier straight to the market. Its Activities page lists cycling, a floating market tour and time by the pool. The pages we could read give no room types.

Choose it if: You want to reach the floating market by the resort's boat and be there early.

Skip it if: You want hills, a hot spring or the town centre.

Mistake to avoid: Do not expect a quiet market: Wikipedia says it is often busiest from 07:00 to 09:00 and calls it crowded with tourists.

Day trips and planning in Ratchaburi

We have no registered tour listing for Ratchaburi yet, so we show no tour prices. The button opens Klook's own search for Ratchaburi, which currently earns us nothing, and results may be limited. Several resorts here run their own boat or activity programmes, so ask your hotel first.

Getting to Ratchaburi

Ratchaburi is reached from Bangkok by train, bus or taxi. On 16 October 2026 the 12Go page for an 18 October search listed 57 trips for 2 travellers, with trains (11 listed), buses (5 listed) and taxis (41 listed); these figures are what the page showed that day, not a promise. Check the arrival point, the operator and the last departure before you book. Our Ratchaburi guide covers the floating market, the caves and Suan Phueng.

Affiliate disclosure: these links may earn us a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you. It does not change what we write.

Before you book

  • Open the map link for the area and then check the hotel's exact pin. A neighbourhood name can cover a wide area.
  • Check the final rate with tax, payment timing, cancellation terms and what the room includes.
  • If arriving late, confirm the check-in method and the last transport that actually runs.
  • Distances in the province are long. Wikipedia describes the east as flat river plain and the west as the Tenasserim Hills along the Myanmar border, and Suan Phueng is in that western hill country. Plan on a car or a transfer between the town, the floating market and Suan Phueng, and ask the hotel for the drive time from where you arrive.
  • Wikipedia says the Damnoen Saduak floating market is often busiest from 07:00 to 09:00 and active until noon, and calls it a tourist trap with overpriced wares. If you want to see it with fewer people, sleeping close and going early is the easiest way.

FAQ

Where should first-time visitors stay in Ratchaburi?

For the floating market, Damnoen Saduak: Maikaew Damnoen Resort says it is 300 metres from the market. For the town and a stop on the way south, Mueang Ratchaburi: Sans Hotel and Centara Life Wisma are both in the centre. For hills and a hot spring, Suan Phueng.

Can I do Damnoen Saduak as a day trip from Bangkok?

Wikipedia puts the market about 100 km south-west of Bangkok and says it is busiest from 07:00 to 09:00. Maikaew Damnoen Resort says it is only 2 hours' drive from Bangkok, so a day trip is possible, but sleeping nearby lets you arrive before the crowds.

Which Ratchaburi hotels have a hot spring?

J.W. Boeklueng Hotspring Resort says guests can enjoy natural mineral baths in their rooms and an outdoor mineral pool, near the entrance to Boeklueng Hot Springs in Suan Phueng. Check the room type, because the room list includes several large houses for groups.

Is there a hotel with a water park?

The Resort at Suan Phueng says it has the first and only water park in Suan Phueng and gives opening hours of 09:00 to 17:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 19:00 at weekends. Its rooms include vintage-style houses and castle-style rooms.

Is Suan Phueng close to Ratchaburi town?

No. Wikipedia places Suan Phueng in the west of the province, bordering Myanmar, and Wikivoyage describes the area as far to the west. Plan on a car or a transfer and ask your resort for the drive time from where you arrive.

Do the hotel pages show prices?

Some do, but rates change with dates and room type, so we show none. The booking buttons on this page open a search for your own dates, and the hotel cards link each hotel's own website.

Are there big event hotels where I might hear noise?

Navela says its banquet hall holds up to 1,200 people, the Centara hotel page leads with events and weddings, and Phuphaphung sells seminar and party packages. We have no verified noise data, so ask whether an event is booked on your dates.

When is the best time to visit Ratchaburi?

We could not verify a single best season. Wikivoyage lists a Ratchaburi Tourism Fair in February to March and a grape and floating market fair around March to April. Check the Thai Meteorological Department forecast for your dates.
