Quick answer: where to stay on Koh Yao Noi?

Choose an area first, then check the live rate for your dates.

Disclosure: we are an affiliate partner of travel booking sites, but these links currently open the providers' own sites and earn us nothing yet.

Koh Yao Noi is a small island in the middle of Phang Nga Bay, between Phuket and Krabi, and it is reached by boat only. That one fact shapes every choice of base: the pier you land at, the last boat of the day and the road to your hotel matter more than the star rating. The island is quiet, with a handful of resorts, small hotels and family-run bungalows rather than a resort strip. This page compares the stays by where they say they are and how they say you reach them.

We show no prices because rates change with dates and room type, and the rate links open booking search with your own dates. We have not stayed at these hotels. Every card shows facts taken from the hotel's own website and checked on 16 October 2026 after a separate verification pass; facts that could not be re-found on the site were removed. Several hotel sites disagree with each other or are out of date, and where we noticed this we say so on the card.

How to choose

  1. Decide the kind of stay first. A private-pool villa resort, a small beachfront villa hotel and a simple fan-and-air-con bungalow are all on this island, and the price gap between them is large. Our table below groups the 12 hotels by the coast or beach their own sites name.
  2. Plan the transfer before you book. Public boats run from Bang Rong pier in Phuket to Manoh pier on Koh Yao Noi, and from Ao Thalen pier in Krabi, but hotels quote different schedules, and Cape Kudu says its boat transfers stop after sunset. Read the getting-there section and confirm the last boat with your hotel.
  3. Check the small print on each card. We found a hotel site with a 2022 footer, one still showing COVID-19 notices, one with offers dated 2024 and one with different room counts on two pages. Ask for current rates, room types and policies in writing.

Choose it if: You want small, quiet stays facing the limestone islands.

Skip it if: You want many restaurants within walking distance of every hotel.

Mistake to avoid: Do not assume the pier is next door; ask the hotel which pier its transfer uses and how long the road takes.

Getting to Koh Yao Noi by boat

Koh Yao Noi has no airport and no bridge, so every route ends on a boat. The hotel pages we read describe three ways across: the public boat from Bang Rong pier in Phuket, the boats from Ao Thalen pier in Krabi, and hotel-run shuttles. The times below are the schedules those hotels publish, copied on 16 October 2026. They do not agree with each other and can change without notice, so treat them as a guide and confirm with your hotel.

Sabai Corner Bungalows island pageOne boat every hour, 07:30 to 17:30Not stated

Koyao Bay Pavilions describes the public crossing as about 30 minutes by speedboat or about one hour by longtail, depending on departure time. It puts Phuket airport about 20 minutes from Bang Rong pier by taxi or minibus, and the Koh Yao Noi hotel about 15 minutes by tuk-tuk from the landing pier; Cape Kudu says its own hotel is about 10 minutes by local car from Manoh pier. Cape Kudu lists 13:30 and 16:00 departures from Bang Rong and 11:30 and 14:30 from Manoh that Koyao Bay's page does not, so the real timetable may be fuller than either hotel shows.

From KrabiWhat the hotel pages say
Ao Thalen pier (Tha Len)Koyao Bay lists departures to the island at 09:00, 11:00, 13:00 (longtail and speedboat), 14:00, 15:00, 16:00 and 17:45, and back at 06:30, 07:30, 08:00 (longtail), 09:30, 10:30, 11:30, 13:30 and 16:30. It puts Krabi airport about 40 minutes from the pier.
Thalane pier to Tha Khao PierCape Kudu says the speedboat takes about 20 minutes and the traditional longtail about 40 minutes.
Sabai Corner's pageOne speedboat a day at 11:00 from Ao Nang beach, boats hourly from Ta Laen pier from 09:00 to 17:30, and one boat a day except Sunday at 13:00 from Ta Dan pier in Phang Nga. This does not match Koyao Bay's list, so confirm current times.
Hotel shuttle or transferWhat the hotel says
Cape Kudu HotelShared shuttle speedboat from Ao Po Grand Marina in Phuket to Manoh pier, a 30-minute crossing: 10:00, 13:00 and 15:00 from 1 November to 15 April, and 10:00 and 15:00 from 16 April to 31 October. Phuket airport is about 20 minutes from the marina. Private transfers need 24 hours' notice.
Paradise Koh YaoResort transfers from Phuket and Krabi airports by private speedboat to the resort's own dock.
Sabai Corner BungalowsPrivate car and private boat transfer from Krabi or Phuket airport.
Koyao Island ResortLists a free transfer among its direct-booking perks; check the conditions with the resort.

A route-comparison site that sells boat tickets lists Phuket to Koh Yao Noi departures from about 06:30 to 16:00 and Krabi to Koh Yao Noi departures from about 08:00 to 15:00, with many boat and van operators; we checked that listing on 16 October 2026. It is not an official timetable, and we have no registered affiliate link for these routes, so we do not link it here.

Arrive in daylight. Cape Kudu says boat transfers stop after sunset and guests who land at Phuket after 15:30 cannot transfer that evening; for a late flight, plan a night in Phuket or Krabi. Cape Kudu says guests must wear life jackets on its boats and suggests light clothing and non-slip shoes.

Day trips and planning from Koh Yao Noi

We have no registered tour listing for Koh Yao Noi, so we show no tour prices. The button opens Klook's own search for Koh Yao Noi tours, which currently earns us nothing. Many hotels sell their own kayak and island-hopping trips, so ask yours first.

Disclosure: we are an affiliate partner of travel booking sites, but these links currently open the providers' own sites and earn us nothing yet.

Getting to Koh Yao Noi

Koh Yao Noi has no airport and no bridge: you reach it by boat from Phuket or Krabi. The button below opens the 12Go Phuket to Koh Yao Noi page, which lists speedboat, ferry and taxi-plus-boat operators for the crossing; the Krabi side is a separate 12Go route page. It is a partner link, so we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Public boats, hotel shuttles and private speedboats each have their own timetable, so confirm the pier and the last boat with your hotel.

Affiliate disclosure: these links may earn us a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you. It does not change what we write.

Before you book

  • Open the map link for the area and then check the hotel's exact pin. A neighbourhood name can cover a wide area.
  • Check the final rate with tax, payment timing, cancellation terms and what the room includes.
  • If arriving late, confirm the check-in method and the last transport that actually runs.
  • Confirm the pier, the boat type and the last boat of the day with your hotel. Cape Kudu says guests who land at Phuket after 15:30 cannot transfer the same evening.
  • Check the weather and sea conditions before a boat day. Cape Kudu says it does not run boat transfers in dangerous sea conditions, and Koyao Bay Pavilions says transfers depend on season and weather, so keep some slack in your plans.
  • Ask whether the hotel runs its own transfers or tours, and what they cost, before comparing it with public boats.

FAQ

Where is the best place to stay on Koh Yao Noi?

There is no single best area; the island is small and quiet. Choose by style: a private-pool villa resort, a small beachfront villa hotel, or a simple bungalow. Hill House, Sabai Corner, Laguna Villas and ANI all say they are on the east coast; Koh Yao Seaview Bungalow is on Tha Khao beach.

How do I get to Koh Yao Noi from Phuket?

By boat. Hotels describe public boats from Bang Rong pier in Phuket to Manoh pier on Koh Yao Noi, about 30 minutes by speedboat, with a taxi or songthaew from the pier to the hotel. Cape Kudu runs its own shuttle boat from Ao Po Grand Marina. Check the schedule with the hotel, because the pages we read do not match each other.

Can I reach Koh Yao Noi from Krabi?

Yes. Hotel sites describe boats from Ao Thalen pier (Tha Len) to the island, and Cape Kudu says the speedboat to Tha Khao Pier takes about 20 minutes, longtail about 40. Sabai Corner's page gives a different set of Krabi departures, so confirm current times.

Is there an ATM, nightlife or a big beach resort strip?

We did not verify ATMs or shops on the island, so ask your hotel. The hotels on this page are resorts, small hotels and bungalows rather than a nightlife strip; the island is described by hotels as quiet and unspoiled.

Can I arrive late in the evening?

Often not. Cape Kudu says boat transfers stop after sunset and guests landing at Phuket after 15:30 cannot transfer that evening. Plan one night in Phuket or Krabi if your flight lands late.

Are there adults-only stays?

The 9 Hornbills tented villas at Koyao Island Resort are described on the site as adults only, and the Beach Pavilion Suites at Koyao Bay Pavilions are listed for 2 adults only. Check each hotel's child policy before booking.

Why do you show no prices or ratings?

We have no current verified source for rates for your dates, and review scores change. The rate links open booking search with your own dates; compare the final total including tax, transfer and cancellation terms.

Can I visit James Bond Island from Koh Yao Noi?

Hotels on the island sell boat tours around Phang Nga Bay and say the bay's limestone islands are close. We do not quote tour prices; see our Phang Nga Bay tour guide for Phuket departures and ask your hotel what it offers.
