As of 17 October 2026 the 28th Harbin Ice and Snow World has no announced opening date and no ticket price. The organisers confirmed on 12 October only that it will grow to 1.25 million square metres this winter. We re-checked official and state-media reports on 17 October and found nothing newer. So this page shows last season's numbers, clearly labelled as 2025/26. Do not use them as this year's prices, and do not book a non-refundable flight on the strength of a forecast date.
For the city, trains and weather see the Harbin guide. For hotels see where to stay in Harbin. Entry rules and payments are on the China hub.

Prices and dates, checked 17 October 2026
| Item | What the source says | Source |

| Price, 28th edition | Not announced | The announcement does not mention price |

A planned reopening price of CNY 228 (adult) and CNY 168 (concession) was announced on 19 February 2026, but that plan was cancelled two days later (see below), so those prices never took effect as far as we can tell. We found no rule saying who qualifies for the concession ticket.
Daily hours: sources disagree
We found no daily hours from an official source. The sources we read disagree, so here they all are.

In short, hours change by day and by weather. Check the announcement on the official channels and on the ticket page you buy from.
What is new in the 28th edition (announced 12 October 2026)
The Harbin Daily report, carried by Cbgc, says the 28th edition covers 1.25 million sq m, uses 400,000 cubic metres of ice and snow, and has more than 1,000 ice and snow structures. The main gate, main tower and stage are refreshed, a longer ice slide is added in the west zone, a show called the Harbin Ice Show runs on the ice stage, and sports include curling, ice hockey and cross-country skiing. The announcement gives no date or price.

How to buy: sources conflict
Guangming Online says that last season tickets were sold in advance through the park's official WeChat accounts, Ctrip, Douyin, Meituan and Alipay. Xinhua says the 27th edition made ticketing international, supporting passports and foreign payment, with multilingual guides.
China Highlights says something different: that official online booking was open only to holders of Chinese resident ID cards, and that foreign passport holders could buy on arrival or send an inquiry through the seller. We cannot tell whether that text is older or newer than the Xinhua report, and we did not try to buy a ticket ourselves. Follow whatever channel is announced for this season. A KKday seller page says you exchange the booking for an entry ticket at a counter with the original passport used to book, and that you cannot re-enter after leaving. That is the seller's rule, not an official notice from the park.
What to ride, and the limits
This section comes from seller pages, not an official notice. KKday says the Super Ice Slide requires riders to be at least 15 years old and taller than 160 cm, and East China Trip gives the same rule and bars anyone who has been drinking. We did not check this against the park's rules, and the new west-zone slide in the 28th edition has no rules we can read yet. Check the ticket page for this year.

Getting there and when to go
Wikivoyage places the park at the west end of Songbei Road in Songbei district. Shangri-La Songbei says it is 2 to 3.5 km from Ice and Snow World and Sun Island, and ibis Harbin Songbei Wanda says it is "8 minutes" away without saying whether on foot or by car. China Highlights says it takes 20 to 30 minutes by car from central Harbin hotels. We did not verify metro or bus routes against an official site, so we name no lines or stations.
On timing, this is our opinion. The ice looks best when the lights are on, and the ticket pages we read do not give a lighting time, so go in the late afternoon and stay into the evening. China Highlights suggests staying inside no more than about 4 hours because of the cold.

Weather risk: how last season ended early
Average temperatures from the 1991 to 2020 normals (Wikipedia, citing the China Meteorological Administration): January average high -11.8 C, low -22.4 C; February average high -5.9 C, low -17.8 C. See the Harbin guide for the full table.
Last season showed the risk. On 19 February 2026 the operator announced a temporary closure for 20 and 21 February because temperatures rose above 0 C, with a planned reopening on 22 February. On the evening of 21 February it replaced that plan: the 27th edition closed officially from that day, citing record temperatures on 20 and 21 February and heavy melting. Ticket holders could get a full refund through the channel they bought from, and people who bought tickets for 20 to 28 February and took a refund could show their ID for a free visit to the next edition. China News Service does not say how that offer will work, so ask the seller. The park had recorded over 120,000 visitors on 19 February, a single-day record. An indoor Dreamy Ice Pavilion opened on 22 February at 12:00 with recreated highlights.
If you travel in late February, allow for this risk and choose a refundable ticket. That is our advice.

Nearby and what next
Sun Island and its snow sculpture expo (the 38th opened 31 December 2025 per China News Service) and the Siberian Tiger Park are in Songbei too. See the Harbin guide for the figures and their limits. If you are heading on to Beijing, see the Beijing guide.

Frequently asked questions
When does Harbin Ice and Snow World open in 2026/27?

How much are tickets?
No 2026/27 price is out. Last season: adult CNY 298 from 17 to 23 December 2025, then CNY 328 from 24 December.
What are the opening hours?
We found no official hours. The sources we read range from 10:00 to 22:00 and 11:00 to 22:00, and one gives 09:00 to 21:30. Check on the day you go.

Xinhua said the 27th edition supported passports and foreign payment. China Highlights says otherwise. We did not test buying. Follow this season's announced channel.
Can children ride the ice slide?
KKday and East China Trip say the giant slide needs riders to be at least 15 and taller than 160 cm. That is last season's rule from sellers, not an official notice.

Yes. Last season it closed early on 21 February 2026 after temperatures rose above freezing, with full refunds.
When was this page checked?
On 17 October 2026 against official announcements and state media. We could not open the park's own site, and we found no official daily hours.
How this guide compares
We read China Highlights' Harbin Ice Festival page and Travel China Guide's Harbin page on 17 October 2026. China Highlights says the 2026/27 opening is a forecast of around 20 December 2026, lists 11:00 to 22:00, gives no price and says foreign passport holders buy on arrival or by inquiry. Travel China Guide gives no ticket prices or dates and links to a separate booking page. This page prints only figures with a source and date, shows where sources conflict, reports how last season ended and says plainly that the 28th edition has no price yet.
Links on this page and our earnings
The search buttons on this page open providers' search pages. As of 17 October 2026 we have no registered affiliate link for the Ice and Snow World and earn no commission from these links yet. We have not compared prices, and we do not recommend buying tickets before the official 2026/27 price is announced.
